Staffing levels – 7th July 2022

Due to COVID related and other staff absences, we are experiencing extremely low staffing levels that is affecting all of our services across the practice, Dispensary, GPs, Nurses and Admin. Although we have been trying to source locum cover and continue to do this, our current situation has impacted on our appointment availability and at times we are cancelling or rescheduling these at short notice. Currently we do not have any nurse in the practice until 18th July. If you have an appointment during this time we will be in contact if it needs to be cancelled. This situation is being monitored on a daily basis.

Please note the following:

– Blood Test appointments, our current wait time for routine appointments is 4 weeks, if you cannot wait for an appointment our administration team will give you the details of how to book this at the hospital.
– It may take up to 4 weeks to process any administration queries.
– You may have a longer wait when collecting your medication from the dispensary. Please remember we require 3 working days notice for requests, it proves very difficult for the team when these requests are outside of this timeframe, especially during periods of staff shortages. Requests received after 5pm, either at the practice, online, or answerphone message is not counted until the next working day.

We ask everyone to be kind and respectful to our staff, especially when contacting us by telephone or presenting at reception as you may have a longer wait than usual to be attended to. Sadly, recently we have had a few occasions when patients have not been very kind. We are doing everything we can to continue to provide our services and administration support to our patients. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.
