Travel Vaccinations
Here at Prescott Surgery we only provide a limited travel vaccination service. The following vaccinations are available:
- Diphtheria, polio and tetanus (combined booster)
- Typhoid
- Hepatitis A (including when combined with typhoid or hepatitis B)
- Malaria
- Cholera
Travel vaccinations are provided by one of our Practice Nurses. We suggest that you seek advice regarding your travel vaccinations at least 3 months prior to date of travel. This is because you may need a course of vaccinations. In addition, it is possible that the vaccinations that you require may not be available at Prescott Surgery. You can seek advice by making an appointment for an initial telephone consultation with a Practice Nurse. In order to help us offer the appropriate advice please collect a Travel Questionnaire from our Reception team or download one here. Please complete it and return it us as least 48 hours before your appointment or telephone consultation.
Some travel vaccines or medication (such as malaria medication) are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge. If this is relevant to you then it will be explained to you by the Nurse. This is because not all travel vaccinations and medication are included in the services provided by the NHS. Please also be aware that we cannot guarantee to be able to offer you an appointment that fits in with your travel plan timescales but we will do our best to help.
There is useful advice about what vaccinations are required on the following link https://travelhealthpro.org.uk and we recommend that you look this up to find out as much information as possible yourself before you travel.
